The tank on top holds the cleaner fluid and 1 gallon of hot water which automatically mixes the two so you don’t need to get your hands wet and messy.
The lower tank holds the dirty water picked up from the carpet. The tank unlatches to easily pour out into a sink without spilling.

And to save you from hauling the SteamVac up stairs it has a long 8-foot hose and a upholstery nozzle just for this reason that scrubs out stained spots.
The cord is 27 foot long, so it should reach anywhere in your house or apartment as long as you have outlets in a few places.
Overall, the Hoover SteamVac F5914 with Clean Surge does wonders and works amazingly well! The only downfall I have is that the water tank is a bit small and for some of the larger rooms, it requires 2 refills to finish.
But the good thing about it is you don’t have to lift a HUGE heavy tank either. Either way, I would HIGHLY recommend this SteamVac to anyone.
